Our Leadership

Believers who invest their hearts, time, families, and finances in the building of a local church deserve to have confidence in church leadership. People are looking for leaders who conduct themselves with integrity and respect when making decisions that affect their lives.

  1. WE ARE SHEPHERDED BY ELDERS

The Elders of the Vine Church oversee the church, and are responsible for protecting, leading, teaching, and caring for God’s flock. This team of elders are men who are called and devoted to sound doctrine, scripture, prayer, and church governance.

Eliot Luongo

CO-LEAD PASTOR

Eliot has a heart for discipleship and building up people in the faith through teaching and counseling. He is in love with his wife Jinna and takes so much joy in being a father to his three children. Eliot earned his Master of Divinity degree from Talbot School of Theology (Biola University) and his B.A. in Psychology from UCLA.

Kyung Kang

CO-LEAD PASTOR

Kyung is an energetic pastor who is passionate about sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Occidental College alum is married to Joan and they try their best to keep up with their three children. He has been in pastoral leadership since 2003, and graduated from Fuller Seminary with a Masters of Divinity degree and a Masters of Arts degree in worship, theology, and arts. Kyung’s heart beats for discipleship, camping, and golf, some of his most favorite things.

Steve Chang

ELDER

Steve is an entrepreneur and owner of Copa Vida. His willingness to take bold steps of faith in obedience to God is an encouragement to many. Steve has a passion for leadership, life, baseball, and coffee! He and his wife Elena have two wonderful daughters.

2. WE ARE CARED FOR BY STAFF AND DEACONS

Deacons assist the Elders in caring for God’s church. The Staff and Deacon team is led by the Elders. This team operates the day-to-day ministry of the church. These fantastic leaders serve the congregation and help the development of the spiritual life of the church.

Ronald Jones

CHILDREN’S MINISTRY PASTOR

Ron has served in full-time Christian ministry for over 30 years and loves teaching students about Christ and encouraging them to grow in Him. He and his wife Stephanie have been married for over 4O years and are blessed to be the parents of 4 wonderfully diverse and adopted children. After obtaining his B.A. from Master’s College, Ron attended A.P.U. where he received an M.A. in Education and Counseling.

Larry Lee

ASSOCIATE PASTOR

Larry is a devoted and multifaceted pastor of our church, bringing deep theological insight and spiritual guidance with his M.Div degree. He pastors our Youth Group, as well as all-church events. As a culinary school graduate, he adds his love for cooking to our fellowship gatherings. Married to Grace and a loving father to three wonderful children, Larry is a constant source of upliftment and inspiration to those around him.

Elena Chang

SMALL GROUP DEACON

Elena’s background in business leadership makes her a powerful spiritual influencer in the church. She loves to see women of faith flourish, for people to build deep relational connections in small groups, and to see God respond to prayer. She is married to Steve and is the mother to two talented daughters.

 

Andy Chang

WORSHIP DEACON

Andy has a deep love for God and an unwavering commitment to serving others. When he's not leading our congregation in heartfelt worship, Andy serves the community as a law enforcement officer. Married to his beloved wife, Clara, he is the proud father of two energetic boys. Andy is committed to creating a space where everyone can encounter God's presence and be inspired to live lives of worship.

Mary Luongo

WELCOME DEACON

Mary’s passion is to make people feel at home. Her attention to detail makes her the perfect host for the church family and for guests. She is an incredible organizer and leads our annual all-church retreat. Mary also joyfully spends her time creating special moments with her many grandchildren.

Robert Ip

FINANCE DEACON

Robert has a heart to connect with people and see them flourish. He is an expert professional in commercial real estate with an MBA from USC. In his free time he, and his wife Judy, can be found on the volleyball court or baseball field with their two outstanding children.

Grace Lee

MEDIA DEACON

Grace has extensive knowledge and experience in media. With a graduate degree in journalism, she skillfully communicates messages of faith and love across various media platforms. Married to Larry and blessed with three amazing children, Grace is committed to serving our church by creating engaging and accessible content. Her dedication ensures that our media presence uplifts and informs all who engage with it.

Hans Kim

AUDIO-VISUAL DEACON

Hans is the muscle man of the church! He is the earliest one at church, leading a great team that prepares the environment for the church gathering. Hans is also a busy professional, taking care of patients as an occupational therapist in a local hospital.
